Chapter Three
I watched Harmony walk upstairs and frowned. She wasn't taking this very well, that much was obvious. This place must really be like home for her. She did say she's been here ever since the transformation. Poor girl... I just hope she makes the right decision. If she chooses to stay, then there's not much I can do to help her.
Slowly, her perfect figure walked down the steep steps connecting this floor to the one above. You could tell by the look of determination on her face that she had made up her mind. I just hope that she chose what she thinks is best for her...
"I've decided." She said in her beautiful soprano voice.
"What's your choice?" I asked, secretly hoping she would come with me.
"I think I can trust you enough to go with you." She said uncertainly.
"Excellent! When would you like to leave?" I asked, smiling with joy.
"Tonight, I'm not comfortable travelling during the day." She said, obviously not very happy to admit it.
"Alright, so we leave at nightfall. Begin packing whenever you wish." I said, glowing with joy.
"I'll go pack now." She said, and bounded up the stairs with a smile.. God, how that smile did melt my heart.
Quickly shaking my head as if to shake the thought away, I sipped on my tea that had finally cooled off. I've really got to stop doing that. I can't think of Harmony that way if we're going to be living together. Harmony was such a beautiful name.. I smiled and sipped on my tea in silence.
"Daydreaming now, are you?" said a beautiful voice from right behind me, making me jump about 10 feet into the air. I heard Harmony laugh and she was so close that I could feel her breath against the back of my neck. That alone made me smile and chuckle a little.
"Scared ya, didn't I?" Harmony said, smiling. She sat across from me and placed a tinkerbell camping bag full of stuff on the countertop.
"Tinkerbell?" I chucled.
"Hey, don't knock it 'till ya try it." She said, smiling.

It was nightfall now, but Harmony fell asleep on the couch and I don't have the heart to wake her. She and I were watching a movie while we waited when she fell asleep. You can tell that she had a long day today by the way she was sleeping. She was curled up in a blanket with one hand under her pillow and the other hanging off the couch.. She looks so peaceful.
I smiled and walked past the kitchen and opened the glass door to Harmony's backyard. It was beautiful outside tonight, and the stars reminded me of Harmony's beautiful eyes..
"Hey." Harmony suddenly said, walking up beside me, "Were you planning on letting me sleep all night?"
I jumped again in surprise, and turned to look at her, "How do you always do that?"
"It comes naturally." She said, smiling. She turned to lock the glass door, then pulled something out of the bag and slung over her shoulder.
"What is that?" I asked.
"You'll see." She said, not looking at me. She opened a vial and a purple mist slowly floated out, staying in one place as if waiting to be told what to do.
"Protect this home and don't stay away. I'll be back to check up on you some day." Harmony whispered to the mist. It rose and grew until the house and backyard was covered in it. Harmony smiled and pulled out a glass vial from her bag. She held it up into the air and paused for a moment, then smashed it hard against the ground in front of her. A loud shattering noise filled the air around us. The house and everything in the backyard suddenly vanished, and where everything was, there was now just a field of grass.
"It's a concealment spell." Harmony said, smiling at my look of shock.
"You never cease to amaze me." I said, smiling at her.
"Shall we go?" She said, slinging her bag over her shoulder.
"Oh, right." I said, and began walking.
"So, where exactly is this place?" Harmony asked, watching my face as we walked.
"We're going to Kennedy Street, then we're taking a left onto Vermont Ave." I said, looking at her face. The urge to reach out and hold her soft hands was incredible.
"So we aren't going too far?" She asked.
"Nope." I said, looking ahead. We were already turned onto Kennedy Street. I could smell hot dogs and french fries coming from the resturaunt just north of here. The scenery on Kennedy Street was beautiful. There was a water fountain placed perfectly in the center of the street, and it seperated the two lanes for cars to pass by perfectly. The water fountain was made of cobblestone and the water was running out of the statue of an angel's mouth.. What a coincidence.
"That fountain is totally bullshit." Harmony suddenly said, being totally out of charecter.
"How is it bullshit?" I asked, "We have wings, that fountain has wings."
"We don't have halos and we don't carry bows around all the time. They make it look like angels are the most perfect things on Earth.." She glared at the statue as we walked by it. Her reaction must have something to do with the way she had to live. At least she won't have to deal with that stuff anymore. She'll be able to just shrug off the little stereotypes that humans make of us.
"That's true.." I said, trailing off. I looked into the distance, and noticed that we were fairly close to our destination.
"That's it, right there." I said, pointing to the five-floor mansion home that I lived in.
"Whoa.. it's a lot bigger than I thought. I'm guessing you live with a lot of people?" Harmony said, looking up in amazement at the large home.
"Well.. I guess you could say that. You'll be meeting a lot of new people today. Are you ready?" I asked, looking into her eyes.
"I think so." She said, looking into my eyes, then looking away.
"Let's go, then." I said, and pulled the key out of my jeans. Skillfully, I unlocked the door and shoved the key back in my pocket. I was about to open the door, but Harmony's face told me to do otherwise.
"Are you sure you're ready?" I asked.
"I.. don't really know." She said, "I'm nervous, because what if they don't like me?"
"Harmony, what's not to like about you?" I said, then shut my stupid mouth. She looked up at me, registering what I said. Finally, she smiled and gave me a quick hug. I couldn't help but smile as I hugged her back.
"Alright, let's go." She said, beaming her beautiful smile at me. I held the door open, then walked in after her.
"Wow.. It's beautiful." Harmony said, looking at the high ceiling and the large hallway. To the right of us there was a metal spiral staircase that led to the second floor. There was a small table to the left of the hallway, and on it was a beautiful lilac. Under the pot for the lilac was where I kept the key to the first floor rooms. There was something similar on every floor. The floor was made of polished dark wood and the walls were painted black. There were four doors, all of them polished dark wood. The hallway smelled of lilacs and vanilla. I walked up to one of the doors and knocked gently.
"Come in!" Came a beautiful female voice from behind the door. I slowly opened it, and smiled at Aurora and Dream studying their notebooks. Harmony and I stepped in, and Aurora immediately held out her hand.
"Hi!" Aurora said, smiling brightly. Harmony shook her hand and smiled back.
"Hello, I'm Harmony." She said, pulling her hand back.
"I'm Aurora, and that's Dream." Aurora said, pointing to Dream sitting with her legs criss-crossed on her bed. Dream smiled and waved politely.
Aurora had peircing green eyes, long, dark brown hair, perfectly smooth tanned skin, and high cheekbones that made her look like she was always smiling. She was tall for her age, and her facial features made her look older than what she was. She was thin and had a pretty good taste in style. Aurora was definitely one of the people that stood out most here.
Dream was just about the opposite. She had blonde hair with light brown highlights. Her eyes were a crystal blue and her skin was pale, but smooth. She was average height for her age, and her figure was perfect. She dressed casually and wore the usual acessories, necklaces and ear rings.
Although their looks were pretty different, they were just about the same attitude wise. They were both very studious and was always prepared. They hated being interrupted when they were studying. The two acted like sisters. They could pull off being sisters if their hair and facial features weren't so different.
"Alright, well, I'm going to be having a meeting upstairs in the cafeteria." I said, looking at both of the girls.
"We'll be there!" Aurora said, smiling and already going to her closet to change into something decent. She was wearing pj's at the moment, as well as Dream.
"Just give us a moment to change." Dream said in her majestic voice. Every time she spoke, it was like you were being hypnotized by the sound of her voice. That's just how powerful her abilties were. Harmony looked in shock at Dream, then looked at me. She obviously hadn't expected such a wave of power from Dream.
"Alright, we'll see you later." I said, gently tugging on Harmony's jacket.
"Yeah.. see you later." She said, and walked out of the room with me. I shut the door behind us, then looked at Harmony.
"What was that?" She asked, astounded.
"Dream's ability is being able to hypnotize people. I guess you could tell by just her talking, but that goes to show how powerful she is." I said, and began walking to the next door. I politely knocked, and a deep voice answered, telling me to come in.
"Hey guys, this is Harmony." I said, walking in with her right behind me.
"Harmony?" said Igor, his back turned to us. He was looking for something in his closet, "That's funny.. When I was in school I used to know someone named Harmony."
"Was her last name Laverna?" Harmony said, smiling and stepping up beside Igor.
"Yeah, how did-" Igor said, then looked to his side at Harmony. His face paled, then the color returned and he smiled brightly.
"Remember me?" She said, holding out her arms.
"How could I forget?" Igor said, hugging her tight and spinning around in a circle once with her. She laughed and let go.
"So this is what happened to you?" Harmony asked, smiled and taking a step back.
"Yeah, it kinda sucks but not so much anymore. God, it's great to see you." Igor said, still smiling brightly.
"So I'm guessing you guys knew eachother?" I asked, looking at the two.
"Ever since 6th grade." They said together, then laughed.
"Oh, that's cool.. I guess that me introducing you two is sort of useless now." I said, and laughed lightly.
"It's okay, Ashes." Harmony said, smiling.
"Well, we're having a meeting upstairs soon Igor." I said, watching his face carefully.
"I'll be there." He said, then hugged Harmony goodbye.
"Bye Igor, I'll see you later!" She said, and walked out.
"Would you mind letting everyone else know to come upstairs into the cafeteria?" I asked Igor.
"No problem. I'll be right up with everyone else." He said, turning his back to me to focus on whatever was in his closet.
"Alright, this floor is done. Igor is going to take care of the rest." I said, and led Harmony up the stairs to the second floor. The second floor was very similar to the first floor, except in the hallway there was a lily, not a lilac. I walked up to the table that held the lily, and searched under the plant until I found two keys. I pulled them both out, then walked up to the first door to the left and unlocked it.
“This is my room.” I said, opening the door and walking in. Harmony followed after me, and checked out the room.
“Wow, it’s nice.” She said. The walls were painted black and were splattered with white, red, blue, and yellow. There was one bed to the left of the room and one to the right. The one to the right was mine. It was made, so you could see the white pillow cases and the matching white blanket. It really brightened up the room nicely.
“Thanks.” I said, and walked to my closet. I pulled out a black and red plaid shirt and threw it on my bed, “You can put your bags down on the bed over there.”
“Okay.” Harmony said, placing her bags on my bed.
I shut my closet doors and stepped up beside my bed. I pulled off my shirt, pulled on my plaid one, and quickly started buttoning up the front. Harmony was watching me with a look of shock, probably expecting me to go into the bathroom to change my shirt.
“What?” I asked with a smirk on my face.
“Nothing.” Harmony said quickly and looked away. I already saw her blushing before she turned her head though, which made me chuckle.
“If you want, you can room with me or you can choose the room directly across the hall. Whichever is fine with me.” I said.
“I think I’d be more comfortable across the hall by myself.” Harmony said, “But thanks for the offer.”
“Alright, your choice.” I said, and grabbed her bags for her. We walked across the hall and I unlocked the door for her, than handed her bags to her.
“Thanks.” She said, smiling.
“No problem, just come let me know when you’re ready to go upstairs.” I said.
“Alright.” She said, and shut the door.
I walked into my room and shut the door behind me, then leaned against it and sighed. I wish she would only realize how much she already meant to me and how badly I wanted to be with her...
